MISSION AND VALUES

WHO WE ARE

We are real people from all walks of life advancing the kingdom of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are a multicultural church that embraces the truth that the kingdom of God is made up of people from every nation, every tribe and every language. We strive for our church to be a picture of heaven. We are a Spirit-filled church that believes in the power of God to save us. We are a community of believers passionate about following Jesus and leading others to follow Jesus. We are excited about serving our community in excellence and sharing the love of God with everyone that we meet.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Rock is an Assemblies of God church. There are certain, unchanging truths that guide all that we do. A few of them are listed below.

WORSHIP WITHOUT APOLOGIES

Worshiping together is highly valued at The Rock. We are excited about God and passionately grateful for who He is and all He has done.

GOD IS ACTIVE IN THE LIVES OF PEOPLE

We believe that the Holy Spirit is meant to be active and present in every believer's life and when we gather as a community. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 says that the gifts of the Spirit are for every believer!

HEAVEN IS MULTICULTURAL

We believe like Revelation 7:9 says that heaven is filled with "every nation, tribe, people and language" and we long for our church to reflect that reality. Therefore, people from all cultures, socio-economic statuses and ethnicities are welcome and valued by God.

CHURCH IS COMMUNITY

We aren't here just to show up for a service. We are here to "do life" TOGETHER, young and old, through every stage of life, celebrating God’s work in everyone.

JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD

The Lord Jesus Christ (God the Son) is the eternal Son of God, separate from God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures declare his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross, bodily resurrection from the dead and exaltation to the right hand of God.

THE BIBLE IS DIVINELY INSPIRED BY GOD

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God (God actually breathed out the words) and are the revelation of God to man. The Word of God shows us who He is and how we are to live.
